Dr. Truitt is the Founder and Executive Director of Viva Excellence, an organization that provides an integrative approach to sustainable healthful living through trainings and seminars. Through the identification and execution of health and wellness goals that connect the mind, body, and soul, Viva Excellence creates space that empowers you to live your most fulfilled life. Dr. Truitt is also the Executive Director of the American Cognitive Training Association. The mission of the American Cognitive Training Association is to support the advancement of the field of cognitive training to benefit individuals at all levels of brain health and professionals working in all areas of brain health.

The Havening Los Angeles team is led by Dr. Kate Truitt, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY26309), is proud to be the first Licensed Clinician who is also a Certified Havening Techniques® Trainer on the West Coast. She serves as the Lead Trainer for Havening Los Angeles as well as the Havening Techniques Global Director of Research and Curriculum Development. Dr. Truitt is committed to understanding the brain’s ability to transcend and transform the complex and beautiful relationship between nature and nurture. Utilizing her training as a neuroscientist and a clinical psychologist, along with her M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration, Dr. Truitt has passionately dedicated her life to advancing the treatment of trauma and stress-related disorders. Her clinical practice, research, and trainings are specialized in the treatment of PTSD/Complex Trauma, eating disorders, panic and anxiety, phobias, and depression. Assistant Trainers:
Rebecca Turner, LMFT: Rebecca earned her Masters of Science degree in Marital Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA as well as a concentration in Medical Family Therapy. This education and resulting clinical work set the foundation for Rebecca’s exploration and treatment of the impacts of sensory sensitivities, chronic illness, and pain upon the lives of individuals and families. Rebecca’s therapeutic work is grounded in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of pre-verbal, chronic, and acute traumatic experiences. She holds certification in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, a model to support those whose minds and bodies have developed in the context of chronic illness, pain, and early developmental trauma.
Stephen Hamilton, PhD, MDiv, LtCol (ret): Dr. Hamilton brings to Viva Excellence a wealth of experience and knowledge related to the neuroscience of trauma treatment as well as a specialized experience in working with performance and leadership. Previously he was staff psychologist at Wright Patterson AFB mental health clinic and faculty member on their APA accredited psychology internship program. He served 20 years as an USAF psychologist and after retiring from active duty worked 3.5 years at the Dayton VA before again returning to WPAFB. He has been trained and practiced all the current evidence-based trauma treatments (CPT, PE, EMDR) but has found using the Havening techniques a powerful tool to help people recover from painful thoughts, memories, feelings and sensations. Havening also aligns well with his clinical interests of sports and performance psychology, post deployment transitions, PTSD, behavioral health and positive psychology. Dr Hamilton has a Master of Divinity from Bethel Theological Seminary and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego.
